Banking and credit unions

Identity scanners for consistent account opening across every branch.

Capture customer and member identity documents at teller stations, onboarding desks and self-service points, then return the evidence to the banking workflow already in place.

Standardized hardware can give each branch the same document input while core banking and onboarding systems retain control of policy, customer due diligence and the final account decision.

Capture identity documents without rebuilding the account-opening process

Account-opening teams need readable document images and accurate customer information, but identity capture should not force employees into a separate workflow. IDSnap scanners are designed to operate as a hardware layer controlled by the bank or credit union's own onboarding application.

Duplex models capture both sides of a supported ID card in one action, keeping paired evidence together. GC2500 models add passport photo-page capture for institutions serving customers and members who present international travel documents.

When the corresponding APX-Verify licence is enabled, captured documents can support data extraction and authentication checks. The institution's policies, customer identification program, exception handling and final account decision remain within its own systems and procedures.

One standard across locations

Support branches, kiosks and centralized operations

A financial institution may have small service desks, full branches, in-store locations and self-service stations. Standardizing the capture interface helps software and support teams deliver the same customer experience without requiring identical physical layouts at every site.

USB and host-controlled models work well where a managed workstation is already part of the branch design. The GC2500e provides an embedded network appliance for deployments that do not want a dedicated Windows PC at every capture point.

Browser configuration, network discovery and application-driven scans make the embedded approach especially relevant to larger branch networks. Operations teams can keep account-opening logic in the core application while selecting the scanner architecture that is easiest to deploy and maintain.
